With a receipt: refund to original payment or even exchange. Gift receipt: merchandise credit or even exchange. No receipt: Academy tries to verify card purchases; otherwise merchandise credit at the lowest price in the past 90 days, and a government-issued photo ID is required.

Opened / used items

Must be resalable (no visible wear or use), in original packaging with tags, paperwork, parts and accessories, unless defective or damaged in transit.

Exceptions

Final sale: firearms & ammunition (except Academy-exclusive brands), bows, crossbows, knives, many shooting/hunting items, gas/fuel-powered items, trading cards, gift cards
Electronics, air beds, massage guns: unopened for a refund; opened and defective → exchange for the same item only
Hoverboards, e-bikes, e-scooters: returnable only if unopened/factory seal intact
Bats, golf clubs, racquets, fishing rods & reels: returnable if still in original packaging
Bikes (not e-bikes): unused within 60 days
Online orders picked up in store must be returned in store
