Short answer: Black Friday is Nov 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday is Nov 30, 2026. The earliest common deadlines are Dec 11–12, 2026, for Apple products, phones and most Best Buy items. Walmart, Kohl's and Macy's have posted 2026 holiday extensions to Jan 31, 2027. Amazon, Target, Best Buy and Apple haven't posted 2026 holiday dates yet, so the dates below use their standard windows. Check back.

How the dates are calculated
- 14 days: Nov 27 + 14 = Dec 11, 2026 (3 days to Nov 30, then 11 more). Cyber Monday: Nov 30 + 14 = Dec 14, 2026.
- 15 days: Nov 27 + 15 = Dec 12, 2026. Cyber Monday: Dec 15, 2026.
- 30 days: Nov 27 + 30 = Dec 27, 2026 (3 days to Nov 30, then 27 more). Cyber Monday: Nov 30 + 30 = Dec 30, 2026.
- 60 days: Nov 27 + 60 = Jan 26, 2027 (3 to Nov 30, 31 for December = 34, then 26 more). Cyber Monday: Jan 29, 2027.
- 90 days: Nov 27 + 90 = Feb 25, 2027 (3 to Nov 30, then December and January bring it to 65, then 25 more). Cyber Monday: Nov 30 + 90 = Feb 28, 2027.
- Stores that count from delivery or ship date (Amazon, Apple, Best Buy, Target.com, Costco electronics, Kohl's shipped orders): start the count on the day your order arrived or shipped, not the day you clicked Buy.
How we count: the day after the purchase (or delivery) is day 1, so we add the number of days to the date. If a store counts the purchase day itself as day 1, the deadline is one day earlier. Aim to return a day early, and go by the date on your receipt or order page.
Who has announced a 2026 holiday extension?
- Amazon: Not posted yet. Amazon's Return Policy page, as we fetched it on Oct 19, 2026, shows no 2026 holiday return dates. Until Amazon posts them, plan on the standard windows. Check back here, and check the return-by date in Your Orders, which is the date Amazon will actually hold you to.
- Walmart: Announced. Walmart's return policy (updated Oct 9, 2026) says most items bought Oct 1 through Dec 31 can be returned until Jan 31. The policy doesn't print a year; for 2026 purchases that's Jan 31, 2027. Walmart says exceptions may apply and gives wireless phones, protection plans, major appliances, Dyson products, and select seasonal and luxury goods as examples.
- Target: Not posted yet. Target's return help page, as we fetched it on Oct 19, 2026, states no 2026 holiday return extension. It only says that holiday and limited-time-only collections "may have modified return policies." Until Target posts dates, the standard windows apply. Check back.
- Best Buy: Not posted yet. Best Buy's return policy page, as we fetched it on Oct 19, 2026, shows no 2026 holiday return period. Best Buy has posted holiday periods in past years. Until it posts 2026 dates, the standard windows apply. Check back.
- Costco: None stated. Costco's return policy answer (published Oct 2, 2025; fetched Oct 19, 2026) mentions no holiday extension. Most merchandise doesn't need one, because Costco's satisfaction guarantee sets no fixed window. The 90-day electronics limit is the deadline to watch.
- Kohl's: Announced. Kohl's 2026 Holiday Extended Return Policy: Kohl's merchandise bought Oct 4 to Dec 30, 2026 can be returned through Jan 31, 2027, and that explicitly includes Premium Electronics and Watches, Jewelry, and Mattresses. Sephora at Kohl's purchases made Oct 30 to Dec 30, 2026 also have until Jan 31, 2027.
- Macy's: Announced. Macy's Holiday 2026 Return Policy: most merchandise bought at Macy's or macys.com from Oct 5 to Dec 31, 2026 can be returned until Jan 31, 2027. Items sold by Dyson and Mac Duggal are excluded and keep the 30-day window.
- Home Depot: None stated. Home Depot's return policy, as we fetched it on Oct 19, 2026, states no holiday return extension. It does have a newer rule, effective July 7, 2026: Halloween and holiday decor gets only 30 days.
- Lowe's: None stated. Lowe's return policy, as we fetched it on Oct 19, 2026, states no holiday extension. Its holiday rule goes the other way: Christmas and Halloween items must be returned on or before the holiday itself.
- Apple: Not posted yet. Apple's Returns & Refunds page, as we fetched it on Oct 19, 2026, shows only the standard 14-day policy and no 2026 holiday dates. Apple has published holiday return windows in past seasons. Until it posts 2026 dates, plan on 14 days and check back.

Which stores have announced 2026 holiday return extensions for Black Friday purchases?
Of the 10 stores on this page, three have posted 2026 holiday extensions on their official pages (checked Oct 19, 2026). Walmart: most items bought Oct 1–Dec 31 are returnable until Jan 31, 2027. Kohl's: purchases made Oct 4–Dec 30, 2026, including Premium Electronics, go through Jan 31, 2027. Macy's: most merchandise bought Oct 5–Dec 31, 2026 goes through Jan 31, 2027. Which Black Friday purchases have the shortest return windows?
Phones and Apple products. Apple (bought direct), Target's Apple, Beats and phone category, and Walmart's wireless phones all get 14 days, so a Nov 27 purchase is due by Dec 11, 2026. Best Buy gives most products 15 days (Dec 12) and activatable devices 14. Amazon gives new Apple-brand products 15 days from delivery. Home Depot gives portable heaters and a few other categories just 7 days (Dec 4).
Do Black Friday deals get price adjustments?
Often not. Best Buy's competitor price match excludes Black Friday pricing and items on sale the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after. Home Depot excludes Black Friday and other limited-time promotions. Lowe's excludes Black Friday and holiday promotions. Walmart excludes Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. Apple's price protection excludes Black Friday. Amazon doesn't offer price matching compensation at all.
