Does Best Buy charge a restocking fee on Black Friday purchases?
Short answer: Yes, the same fees as the rest of the year. Best Buy's return policy has no Black Friday exception. Opened activatable devices (phones, cellular tablets, hotspots and cellular wearables, but not prepaid phones) carry a $45 fee. Drones, digital cameras, camera lenses, camcorders, projectors and some other categories carry 15% of the price. There's no fee if the item is unopened, or if you bought it in AL, CO, HI, IA, MS, OH, OK or SC.

- Drones, digital cameras, camera lenses, camcorders (including action cameras), golf launch monitors, premium scooters, super scooters, mobility scooters, electric wheelchairs, leg and body recovery systems, projectors, projector screens, premium cold tubs, premium saunas, and special-order products.
- Example: return an opened $400 drone and the fee is 15% × $400 = $60.
Black Friday return deadlines (window starts the day you receive it)
- Most products, standard customers (15 days): Nov 27 + 15 = Dec 12, 2026. Cyber Monday: Nov 30 + 15 = Dec 15, 2026.
- Activatable devices (14 days): Nov 27 + 14 = Dec 11, 2026. Cyber Monday: Dec 14, 2026.
- My Best Buy Plus/Total members, most products (60 days): Nov 27 + 60 = Jan 26, 2027. Cyber Monday: Jan 29, 2027.
- Example dates count calendar days from the day you receive the product. Your receipt shows the exact date.
