Do Black Friday doorbusters have a different return policy?

Short answer: Usually not when it comes to the return window. None of the 10 official return policies we checked (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Costco, Kohl's, Macy's, Home Depot, Lowe's and Apple) mentions doorbusters or sets a separate window for Black Friday deals. The item's normal category window applies. Two things do differ: some discounted items are final sale, and Black Friday prices are often excluded from price matching.

Details

A doorbuster TV gets the same window as any other TV at that store, and that's often a short one: 30 days at Target, Home Depot and Lowe's, and 15 days at Best Buy for standard customers. Walmart's consumer electronics window is 30 days, possibly extended to Jan 31, 2027 by its holiday policy.

Where a deal can change the rules

Amazon: products listed as Final Sale, which Amazon says includes "specific discounted items", can't be returned or refunded.
Macy's: Last Act merchandise is final sale and sold "as is", with no returns, exchanges or price adjustments.
Target: holiday and limited-time-only collections "may have modified return policies", and Limited Time Offer designer launches typically get two weeks. Check the receipt or the item description.
Lowe's: Christmas items must be returned on or before Dec 25. Home Depot: holiday decor gets 30 days. Best Buy: Christmas decorations get 15 days.

Black Friday prices and price matching

Best Buy's competitor match excludes "items denoted as Black Friday pricing" and items on sale the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after.
Home Depot excludes "Prices Offered During Black Friday or Other Limited-Time Promotions."
Lowe's Lowest Price Guarantee excludes Black Friday and various holiday promotions.
Walmart doesn't match Walmart.com prices for Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals.
Apple's price protection excludes "special sales events, such as Black Friday." Amazon offers no price matching compensation at all.
