Target Black Friday return policy 2026

Short answer: Most unopened Black Friday buys at Target get 90 days: Feb 25, 2027 for a Nov 27 purchase, or Feb 28, 2027 for Cyber Monday. Electronics get only 30 days (Dec 27 or Dec 30), and Apple, Beats and phones get 14 (Dec 11 or Dec 14). Target hasn't posted a 2026 holiday extension yet (checked Oct 19, 2026).

Black Friday is Nov 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday is Nov 30, 2026. In stores the window starts at purchase. For Target.com orders it starts when you receive them: at delivery, Shipt delivery, or pickup.

Target's return help page, as we fetched it on Oct 19, 2026, states no 2026 holiday return extension. It only says that holiday and limited-time-only collections "may have modified return policies." Until Target posts dates, the standard windows apply. Check back.

How we count: the day after the purchase (or delivery) is day 1, so we add the number of days to the date. If a store counts the purchase day itself as day 1, the deadline is one day earlier. Aim to return a day early, and go by the date on your receipt or order page.

Traps to watch

Phones: Target may charge a restocking fee of up to $35, except where that's prohibited. There's no fee if the phone is unopened. Carrier-contract phones can also bring early termination fees.
Opened music, movies, video games and software can only be exchanged for the same title. Opened airbeds can only be exchanged.
Trading cards and trading card accessories are final sale.
Limited Time Offer designer launches aren't covered by the owned-brand policy and "typically have a shortened return policy of two weeks."
The extra 30 days for Target Circle Card purchases doesn't apply to Target Owned Brand items, which already get one year with a receipt.

Price drops after Black Friday

Target's own price drops: Target will match its own lower price (in stores, on Target.com, or a Target Circle deal) if you ask within 14 days of purchase. For a Black Friday buy, Nov 27 + 14 days: 3 days gets you to Nov 30, 11 more days = Dec 11, 2026. Clearance, closeout and liquidation are excluded. The Price Match Guarantee page doesn't mention a separate Black Friday exclusion.
