How we count: the day after the purchase (or delivery) is day 1, so we add the number of days to the date. If a store counts the purchase day itself as day 1, the deadline is one day earlier. Aim to return a day early, and go by the date on your receipt or order page.

Traps to watch

Restocking fees: $45 on activatable devices (except prepaid phones). 15% of the price on drones, digital cameras, camera lenses, camcorders (including action cameras), projectors and projector screens, golf launch monitors, premium scooters, premium cold tubs and saunas, and special orders, among others.
There's no restocking fee if the product is unopened, or if you bought it in AL, CO, HI, IA, MS, OH, OK or SC (or where the law prohibits it).
Some items can't be returned once opened, including products that contact bodily fluids, SIM kits, LEGO, and consumables like batteries, ink and filters.
If a bundle or free item came with your purchase, you lose that benefit unless you return everything.
Items must come back like new. Damaged, scratched or incomplete returns can be denied or have money deducted.

Price drops after Black Friday

Best Buy will match its own lower price during your return period if you ask.
When matching competitors, Best Buy excludes items "denoted as Black Friday pricing, special daily or hourly sales and items for sale the Thursday before Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving." In 2026 that's Nov 26 through Nov 30.
