The date math

Most merchandise (normally 30 days) (30 days): Nov 27 + 30 days: 3 days gets you to Nov 30, 27 more days = Dec 27, 2026. Cyber Monday: Nov 30 + 30 days: 30 days into December = Dec 30, 2026. The holiday date (Jan 31, 2027) is a fixed date, so there's nothing to count.
Items sold by Dyson and Mac Duggal (30 days): Nov 27 + 30 days: 3 days gets you to Nov 30, 27 more days = Dec 27, 2026. Cyber Monday: Nov 30 + 30 days: 30 days into December = Dec 30, 2026.

How we count: the day after the purchase (or delivery) is day 1, so we add the number of days to the date. If a store counts the purchase day itself as day 1, the deadline is one day earlier. Aim to return a day early, and go by the date on your receipt or order page.

Traps to watch

Mail returns are free only for Star Rewards members. Everyone else has a $9.99 return shipping fee (plus tax) taken out of the refund. Store returns are free.
If your order came with a free promotional gift, it has to come back with the item, or its value may be deducted from your refund. BOGO discounts are split across the items, so you're refunded the discounted price.
Shipping and delivery fees aren't refunded. Store purchases have to be returned to a store.
Designer brands have their own rules. For example, Burberry is 14 days and Herald Square only. Check before you buy.

Price drops after Black Friday

Price adjustments: if an advertised Macy's price drops within 10 days of your order date, Macy's refunds the difference.
