How do I return a Christmas gift to Macy's?
Short answer: Return the gift to any Macy's store for free, unworn and unaltered with tags attached. Without proof of purchase, Macy's may give store credit at the item’s lowest selling price in the last 90 days.

- Online orders can be returned free in store; mail returns are free for Star Rewards members, otherwise $9.99 (plus tax) is deducted.
- Cosmetics and fragrances may be returned if they don’t meet your needs.
- Final sale: food, beverages, plants, gift cards, altered/personalized items, gourmet gifts and Last Act merchandise.
How long you have
- Most items: 30 days from delivery or purchase.
- Macy's Holiday 2026 Return Policy: most merchandise bought Oct 5–Dec 31, 2026 can be returned until Jan 31, 2027 (Dyson and Mac Duggal excluded; Last Act is final sale).
- Some designer brands are shorter (e.g., Burberry 14 days).
