Standard return window

90 days for most unopened Target-sold items in new condition; return window for Target.com starts when you receive the items

Receipt / no-receipt

Bring a valid receipt, return barcode (app/account), or payment card for lookup. Without proof of purchase you may get a merchandise return card (ID required). Target Plus Partner returns require proof of purchase.

Opened / used items

Opened/damaged items may be denied. Beauty: most beauty items can be returned even if opened within 90 days with receipt (up to 120 days with Target Circle Card). Music/movies/games/software and airbeds: exchange only if opened.

Exceptions

• Target Owned Brand: up to 1 year with receipt
• Electronics & entertainment (excl. Apple/Beats): 30 days
• Apple & Beats (incl. phones): 14 days; in-store/mobile phones via Order Pickup: 14 days; restocking up to $35 may apply except where prohibited
• Target Plus Partners: typically 30 days; non-receipted in-store returns denied
• Target Circle Card / Circle 360: often +30 days on nearly all items (exclusions apply)
• Final sale: trading cards & accessories; personalized items; digital downloads; open/unsealed breast pumps; gift cards; select Partner items

Refund method

Usually original payment. GiftCard purchases → new eGiftCard. Non-receipted store returns → merchandise return card.

Holiday & limited-time collections may have modified return policies—check receipt/item description.

Can I return opened makeup to Target?

Yes—Target’s help pages state most beauty items bought in stores or online can be returned even if opened, within 90 days with your receipt (up to 120 days if purchased with a Target Circle Card).

Can I return to Target without a receipt?

Target can often look up purchases via return barcodes in your account/app or the payment card used. Without proof of purchase you may receive a merchandise return card. Target Plus Partner items require proof of purchase.
