- Standard return window
- Most new, unused merchandise: 90 days with proof of purchase; many LCA/MyLowe’s credit purchases: 365 days (exceptions apply)
- Receipt / no-receipt
- Proof of purchase required. Lowe’s may validate via physical/electronic receipt, order number, payment card/wallet, phone number, or rewards accounts. Photo ID may be required by refund verification systems. No returns without valid proof of purchase.
- Opened / used items
- Standard policy is framed around new, unused merchandise. Liquid paint and many sealed OPE categories have shorter windows. Biohazard-risk used items cannot be returned once used.
- Exceptions

- Holiday decor: Christmas/Halloween must be returned on/before the holiday; post-holiday purchases final sale
- Special-order configured products: 20% restocking after 72 hours
- Nonrefundable: labor, install, many gift cards, whole-house generators, as-is, paint samples, trading cards, etc.
- Refund method
- Usually original payment. Gift/merchandise cards → in-store credit. Check/cash rules vary (including vouchers for some online/delivery returns).
- Holiday extensions
- Christmas and Halloween items: return on or before the holiday only.
