Standard return window

30 days from the invoice date for eligible products bought directly from Dell

Receipt / no-receipt

Start the return within 30 days to get a credit return authorization (CRA) number; returns without a CRA aren’t refunded. Products bought elsewhere follow that seller’s policy.

Opened / used items

Return in original packaging, in as-new condition, with all media, documentation and items from the original shipment. Dell must receive the return within 30 days of authorization.

Exceptions

• Software can’t be returned unless it was installed by Dell on a returnable product (other narrow exceptions on Dell’s page)
• No restocking fee for consumers buying for personal use, defective products, or Dell errors; otherwise up to 15%
• Refund may be reduced by shipping/handling and the value of promotional items not returned
• Purchase-order/payment-terms commercial purchases are not covered
• Dell sometimes runs promotions that extend the return period for specific products

How long do I have to return to Dell?

30 days from the date of your invoice. You must start the return within that time, and Dell must receive it within 30 days of authorizing it.

Does Dell charge a restocking fee?

Not for consumers who bought for personal use, for defective products, or for Dell errors. Other permitted returns may have a 15% restocking fee.

Can I return an opened Dell laptop?

Yes, within 30 days of the invoice, in its original packaging and as-new condition with everything that came in the box. Get a credit return authorization number first.
