Guitar Center gives 45 days on most gear, but only 14 days on recording, DJ and lighting equipment, 3 days on vintage instruments, and no returns on computers, Apple hardware or clearance.

45-day satisfaction guarantee: return in original condition for a full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping)

Receipt / no-receipt

Store and online purchases can be returned to any Guitar Center store with the order confirmation email or packing slip; credit is issued immediately. Mail returns need a return authorization code (1-866-498-7882).

Opened / used items

Must be in original condition. Guitar Center may limit return privileges for excessive returns or items no longer brand-new.

Exceptions

14 days: recording devices, DJ equipment, workstation keyboards, rack signal processors, lighting/fog machines
3 days: vintage instruments
Not returnable: clearance, discontinued, Apple hardware, computers, opened software, downloads, books, CDs, vinyl, in-ear buds/monitors, earplugs, tubes, harmonicas, special orders
Apple products: 10% restocking fee on open-box returns
Band & orchestra: $10 sanitization fee on woodwinds/brass; bows $4; mouthpieces $4–$8
